Play and share

  1. With an installed release or test build, open a conversation in Messages. Tap + and find Daily Word; scroll or tap More if needed.
  2. Tap Challenge the chat, then the Messages send arrow to share the exact quiz.
  3. Open the card, select a definition, and lock your guess. The first locked answer is final.
  4. Tap Send result, then the Messages send arrow to deliberately share a spoiler-free reply.
  5. Open result replies to receive comparisons. Lock your own answer before viewing other players’ choices and correctness.
How results and progress work

Replies carry snapshots of shared results, up to 24 players, rather than a live scoreboard. They can include results already received for the quiz. Playing never sends a message automatically. Progress stays locally on the device; voluntarily shared results travel through Messages. Spoiler concealment is a display rule, not separate encryption.

Today’s quiz changes at local midnight. Playing counts toward your streak regardless of correctness. Older shared quizzes join your word collection without extending today’s streak.

Troubleshooting

If Daily Word is missing, check + and More in Messages and confirm the extension is enabled in Messages settings. Labels vary by iOS version. Open the original card in Messages, and check both players have a compatible installed app version. Missing results require a sent reply and opening that reply.
